Ital Tek’s 12″ launch last Tuesday saw a fantastic showcase of his new material as well as some older tunes alike. Thanks to all those who came. Photos to come!
If you haven’t bought it yet, check Ital Tek’s new single on Planet Mu Records here: http://www.bleep.com/?bleep=ZIQ184
Benga and Hatcha tore up Square Roots in Brighton with a long set on Thursday night too, with Equinox finishing up with some huge Jungle tunes. SQR bring the 15k Gramps Hifi rig in for their nights, which is incredibly bassy, and sounded fantastic as usual.
Watch out for the nights we are going to be running with SQR from August!
Ital Tek, who’s release “Snippets” you may recently have downloaded from us, is releasing a 12″ single, entitled “Bloodline” on Planet Mu Records on June 11th.
We will be running a special launch party for the release at the Fortune of War, Brighton, hosted by Instrumentality, on June 18th.
Also playing will be TV Youth (Net-Lab), Net-Lab DJs, and Square Roots DJs, with Piratio providing a special visual performance.
This is one not to be missed, trust me brah.

Find out more about Ital Tek on his Profile, Myspace and at Planet Mu Records.
So on a visit to my shitty hometown I saw some funny posters for “Girl Better Know”. I wont pretend to know or endorse what they were (some kind of shitty rip off clothing line) but it was amusing never-the-less.
This was a pretty eventful week.
If you’re in Brighton and you didn’t check the arts degree show at the uni then you really missed out! There was some awesome stuff there. Some terrible stuff too mind.

Bok Bok and Tootsi, at Square Roots live on Resonance FM
After checking Cocorosie at Komedia in Brighton on Tuesday night myself and the guys at Square Roots rolled into Resonance FM’s studio up in central LDN for their monthly show. DJ Tootsi and Bok Bok played some awesome grime instrumentals, with Ital Tek pulling up a big promo set for his 12″ launch on Planet Mu. SQR DJs Max, Tom and Sean dropped some new unheard dubstep and electronic tunes as usual which were awesome too. Max (Noid) played a blinding set at the end (sooo early in the morning) too. The setup they have there is pretty cool, and there’s a new more powerful aerial transmitting, but aparently they’re moving to a new studio which is even better soon. Boomnoise from Dubstep Forum dropped by for the show too.
Anyway, I think SQR are going to put that up for a podcast pretty soon.
Loefah played at Dubpressure last night, and Roll Deep + CSS + Klaxons were playing a Vice party over at the Concorde in Brighton too. I missed both cheers to the Fathers day weekend, so I officially fit the wasteman description. But I heard that JME, Skepta and Wiley never showed for the Vice thing anyway, despite it being billed as “Full Crew”. From what I’ve seen, this seems like a pretty serious problem in the Grime scene at the moment. So many MCs just don’t turn up to their shows. I mean, Vice party at one of the biggest venues in Brighton is a pretty big show. I guess there’d be a lot of people disappointed after that.
Dizzee is playing on the 27th at the Concorde. Postponed from the 22nd, if you hadn’t noticed that. He’s supported by the Newham Generals and Tubby, who I believe are one of the most original and groundbreaking Grime acts out there right now.
I hope you’re all coming on Tuesday night for the big Ital Tek 12″ (Planet Mu) Launch Party at The Fortune of War, on Brighton seafront??
Easy yeah. We will be down at Resonance FM with our mates at Square Roots tomorrow night (Tuesday 12th).
Broadcasting live from 1am - 3am.
With…. BOY BETTER KNOW and RUFF SQWAD!!

Net-Lab DJs will be back to back with Square Roots DJs after Benga, Hatcha and Equinox at this month’s Square Roots.
PLUS…
TV Youth’s debut appearance.
EXPECT BIGNESS….

So this was a pretty good party tonight, all big acts and a great crowd that most of us knew as it was invite only. Big house in Whitechapel with a plush studio looking out over the park. Then it hits midnight, and, needless to say when you book any grime crew, you gotta think about who you book them with (which we checked). So anyway it turns out that what went down in Bristol is still a problem for certain people, and a lot of friends of said people started to arrive, anyway it went off and everything got shut down at about 12.30am after someone made a call.
Probably more info to follow, not sure if its a good thing to be posting really.
Net-Lab slew Whitechel. FULL STOP!!
