We officially launched the first in our series of Acid compilations, “Acid Blue”, with some fantastic tracks from the likes of Chevron, Mully, Shinra, Idiron Soundtrack, Ghost Explorer, Voltek and lots lots more. It’s one of our longest releases to date, and has taken quite some time to compile.
“Acid Green”, the second compiled work in the series, will be available May/June 2008 (tbc). If you are interested in submitting works for this title, then please get in contact or visit the usual Help > Submissions page.
PLUS… we have Odan’s fantastic “Charlbury Gardens” EP, which has some absolute 100% certified bangers included.
All in all a good day for the free legal downloader. Have fun.

Our second compilation in the series will be available from May/June 2008, to which we are accepting submissions now, so please don’t delay in getting in contact. I’ve just spent the last few days sorting out our own little corner on Last.FM. Eventually, we’ll have the entire catalogue up there for your listening pleasure. You can also download full length tracks cos we’re awesome like that. If you have any music with us, and you notice any mistakes, maybe I’ve spelled a title wrong or something, let me know [barry@net-lab.co.uk] and I’ll sort it out.
Special thanks to Helen at the Last.FM Label Team for pushing me to the front of the cue and responding to all my mails so quickly.

Piratio
//////// In 1991, my parents bought me my first computer. In 2002, I played my first live gig. I’m not really sure what happened in between. I like to make music & videos where I don’t do any hard work. I keep sounds when I think they’re interesting, look for them everywhere I can and I put them together in ways that I think sound/look nice. I give all the stuff I make away for free cos I don’t particularly think it’s worth anything in that way. I’m interested in power, speed and duration as subject, the relaxation of control, choreography & editorial as process and there’s no greater buzz than playing a gig. I think that’s a nice way to finish so… //////////
Tupolew is a rock band. Noise, Repeat, Silence,Pattern, Riff, Tense, Release, Drone, Feedback, Snare crack, Scrape, Pattern, End. Something like that. Formed in Aug 2006 in Berlin. Members from Ireland, Switzerland and France. Other stuff we do: Monno (Conspiracy Records), Amoebazoid (Osaka/Cycling ‘74), Double Adaptor (Osaka), Replication Fork (Apostrov Recordings) and Maersk (Risc).
Venues to be confirmed soon… Promise!

I went drinking with these guys last year and had one of those bonding-with-randomers nights. We got in trouble with the cops, lost many pairs of shoes, involved in an air-sea-rescue and I even introduced them to the Grubbs Malaysian Double Burger. At the time, I thought they were just pissheads; it turns out they are pissheads with a busy sideline in video blogs, art projects, audio recording, live events and more…

Worth a mention is Music Box, the D crew’s Music Op Blog [Ep. 01], which is a bit of fun, and The Red Couch Project.
THINKDYNAMIC is proud to announce The Red Couch Project, the codename for our upcoming Internet-based TV station featuring new, original, and frequently-updated free video content. Shows featured on the station will include Studio Dynamic produced works as well as original content from other up-and-coming producers. Show and launch date details will follow, but the first confirmed show is Studio D.’s “Music Box”.
We like Music Box because it provides a totally different view on bands and musicians from anything you may have seen on MTV or MuchMusic. This is definitely not your generic “How did you get your name?” interview. The first episode features Attack in Black, with episodes featuring such bands as Silverstein and Moneen to follow.

I’ve had to stop being so lazy and go in search of other culture in Brighton, and yes, apparently there’s quite a bit to do in this town!
Paper Bag
Paperbag organise short film & music nights in Brighton. We work with companies/organisations, festivals and individuals to pull together all the elements for eclectic events which aim to excite, inspire and delight. a typical event will screen short film compilations and present live music from local performers either set to or surrounding the film, all housed in a comfortable & relaxing venue where one can grab a tasty bite to eat or a bevvie of your choice.
They’re almost a year old now and do some great work. Their next event is a Best of ‘07 affair so if you’ve never been along, here’s your chance to catch up and pretend you were there from the start (like I will be!).

Floetics
…is a monthly poetry, spoken word, drama, storytelling and performance night at the Redroaster Coffee House in Brighton… Floetics aims to combine more experienced writers and performers with a relaxed open mic to promote confidence in creativity and a feeling of achievement regardless of experience. Currently, Floetics is surfing a steady wave of consistently packed out nights, and as the student term gets under way, we’ll be able to create a stable event that writers and performers can rely on to enter and be themselves…
I was a little bit skeptical walking in the door of this night; I’ve attended so many poetry nights in the past which suffer from being a little bit too serious, but Jasmine, the host, has managed to strike a fantastic balance between giving the acts a forum to get their work heard and keeping the evening light and fun. A highlight had to be Jimmy (?), ex-member of the Bobby Mcgee’s, a big burly Scot with a toy guitar who stole the show singing fun songs that made everybody laugh. I’ll definitely be practicing my finger clicks and dry-cleaning my beret in time for the next event.
